Mike Chalmers - CorDeo UKWe want to start by thanking you for praying for us in these last couple of months. We are very grateful to God for you as you join with us in Cor Deo.

We have a four-day Intensive coming up in August with places still available. Perhaps you can join us, or encourage a friend to come? Before we get to that, here’s what has happened since the last update…

June
The final week of June was a week of ‘Focus‘ seminars – and we had a great time! We enjoyed our day with (the original) Jonathan Edwards, as together we read through his excellent sermon ‘A Divine and Supernatural Light.’ His challenge about being born again was felt deeply. We then had a fantastic two days with Hosea! The plan was simple – read through his book and encounter the heavenly Author who woos and marries a sinful people. The God we see in Hosea is truly delightful! Our final ‘Focus‘ seminar of the week was a Bible Saturday – we saw how the Bible came to be and gained confidence in trusting that God means what He says. In the afternoon we ‘raced’ through the whole Bible story, tracing as many big themes as we could. Overall it was an excellent week, with stimulating conversations and questions.

Interested in future ‘Focus‘ seminars? Keep an eye on the website.

We’ve also hosted a couple of Cor Deo ‘Bitesize‘ events. Again the idea is simple – to spend time in a small group discussing and chewing a big issue, on aSaturday morning or midweek evening. So far we’ve investigated why there are four Gospels and why do we still struggle with sin. We’re planning on doing moreBitesize events – we’ll keep you posted. If you have any ideas of questions or themes that we can offer then please let us know!

August
The next big opportunity for you to be with us at Cor Deo is an Intensive week,Tuesday August 16th – Friday August 19th. If you haven’t been able to come to a previous Cor Deo event then this one is ideal – all are welcome to sign up, but if you’re a teacher or student this is a golden opportunity to come out of term time! We’ll spend lots of the week in John’s Gospel and we’ll discuss how Christians throughout history have answered the four big questions. It’s also ideal even if you’ve been to an Intensive before – I love being in multiple Intensives! There are still spaces so please consider joining us, and inviting friends. Details are on the website here, or feel free to email me.

USA
This fall we will have a Cor Deo Intensive in the Portland area and we would love to have you join us if you can. It will be a MondayThursday together with lunches provided. For more information on dates, location, costs, etc., please email me.

See you soon?
As always, if you have any questions about what we do or what we’re offering in the coming months then drop us an email. If you’d like a Cor Deo ‘Bitesize‘ or ‘Intensive‘ to happen in your area, or if you’d like to show us your favourite coffee shop, let us know – we’d love to come and visit!

For the Mentors,
Mike
