Theme: The problem of suffering has challenged Christians from the beginning… but suffering is an inevitable reality in this present world. One of the greatest truths to which a Christian can come is a deeply wrought conviction that, when suffering does come, it is ALWAYS an instrument in the hands of a loving Father perfecting His children for glory. Yet, we may still experience significant frustration, and even guilt, as we fall so short of the “perfect” Christian life. In addition, for many of us, that inner struggle takes the form of clinical depression, a reality known by some of the Lord’s greatest saints.
But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 1 Corinthians 15:57.
In Glory Wrought the author shares his most intimate expressions of pain, praise, joy and victory through the poetic verse and lyrics of his own life and struggle. The victory is found in an unwavering conviction that our loving God is always absolutely in control in the life of each of His children, ultimately to bring forth unspeakable glory — even through the fire and forge of troubled time.
In every sorrow of the nightThe child of promise gains new sightOf glory’s mercy, love, and light,Through fire and forge of troubledtime.”Excerpt from Fire and Forgeof Troubled time.
